Vaccine Clinic
San Diego House Rabbit Society provides lower-cost Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHDV2) vaccination clinics to help protect pet rabbits in our community. We use the Medgene Labs RHDV2 vaccine, which requires a two-shot series for full effectiveness. This series includes an initial vaccination followed by a booster dose 21 days later. Both shots are required for vaccine efficacy, and full protection is achieved 14 days after the second dose.
Rabbits who have already completed the full two-dose series in the past may be eligible for a single-dose booster, as long as they are still within the expiration date of the second dose from the previous year. Additional information about the vaccine is available on Medgene’s RHDV vaccine page.
When you schedule the initial vaccine appointment, you will automatically be scheduled for the booster appointment at the next available clinic date. Clients who register for the first dose must return for the booster vaccination. Please do not sign up if you are unable to attend both appointments, as completing the full series is essential for your rabbit’s protection.
The total cost is $80 for both required doses. Payment is due at the time of scheduling and is non-refundable. Nail trims are also available for an additional $10 when booked alongside a vaccine appointment.
